Discount Calculator
Find the final price after a percentage discount and see exactly how much you save.
You save
$20
Sale price
$80
Formula
Savings = Original Price × Discount% ÷ 100
Sale Price = Original Price × (1 − Discount% ÷ 100)
Quick examples
10% off $200 → save $20, pay $180
25% off $80 → save $20, pay $60
50% off $150 → save $75, pay $75
Stacking discounts
Applying two discounts in sequence is not the same as adding them. A 20% discount followed by a 10% discount gives a total saving of 28%, not 30%, because the second discount applies to the reduced price.
Example: $100 − 20% = $80 → $80 − 10% = $72 (28% total, not 30%)

Frequently Asked Questions
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage, then divide by 100. That is the savings amount. Subtract it from the original price to get the sale price. Formula: Sale price = Original × (1 − Discount/100).
